BBQ CookOff Rules

These rules are subject to change as they are reviewed every January.

2012 BBQ Cook-Off
Schedule of Events &
Rules


v 
Head Cooks Meeting will be at 8:30 am Saturday at the Judging Tent. Rules and procedures will be covered and any additional questions will be answered. Judging trays/cups will be handed out at this meeting. Trays/cups, damaged tags, etc. are the responsibility of the Head cook.

 

v  The Head cook will be responsible for the conduct of all team members and guests.

 

v  Cookers will be issued 2 parking passes per team at check-in.  Extra passes may be purchased by Head Cook’s ONLY for $20 each.

 

v  Decisions by the Promoter, Bar-B-Que Chairman and the Head Judge are final.


v 
Check-in time will begin at 8 am Thursday morning and continue through Friday until 3pm.

 
  v 
Meat inspections will begin at 4 pm on Friday afternoon.

 
$100 Meat Entry
  
 - enters you in Brisket, Ribs and Chicken.

Ø  Prize Money:

§  1st Place - 35% and prize

§  2nd Place - 25% and prize

§  3rd Place - 15% and prize

§  4th Place - 10%

§  5th Place - 5%

Ø Chicken - Any type, excluding Cornish Game Hens. 1:00pm turn in.

Ø Pork Ribs - Slab only, spare or baby back. 2:00 pm turn in.

Ø Beef Brisket - 3:00 pm turn in.

 

v  Trophies or Prizes will also be given for Best Overall & Best Space (judged at anytime)

 

$10 Jackpot Bean Entry

Dry pintos only.

Ø  Prize Money:

§  1st Place - 50% & Prize

§  2nd Place- 35%

§  3rd Place - 15%


Ø 
No meat product and anything larger than the bean allowed in the sample cup.

Any heat source can be used. 11:00 am turn in.

    - This is wild, anything goes. 12:00 pm turn in.

Ground Rules & Regulations

 


v 
Site space will be approximately 30’ X 30’. The top 5 money raisers from last year’s cook-off will get 1st  choice in spots; these will be marked on the map with X’s.

 

v  Generators are needed for electricity.

 

v  Williamson County Constable will provide patrols.  However, if you need to leave your equipment unattended, or have other safety, security or first aid issues. Contact the Liberty Hill Livestock Association Staff.
v  In addition, it is requested that because of the location and size of the Cook-Off site and courtesy toward other teams, good judgment be used for late night activity, sound amplification etc.
v  Alcohol shut down time will be 12:15am.
v  Site shut down at 12:30am. Lights out/Quiet time from 1am to 7am. v  No in or out traffic after 1 am every night.  


v 
NO FIREARMS PERMITTED.

 

v  All vehicles must be removed from your site or moved from the site by 3 pm Friday afternoon. No driving access in or out after this time.

 

v  Ice can be purchased on site thru LHLA's Preferred Ice Vendor, at the Judge's Tent.

 

v  NO ATV’s, GOLF CARTS, 4-WHEELERS ETC. ARE ALLOWED by anyone except for Liberty Hill Livestock Association Staff.

 

v  Travel trailers parking will be available within walking distance (marked on map) for those who do not have entries. These spaces will not have water or electricity and cost $50.00 per trailer.

 

v  No Gambling.

 

v  The Liberty Hill Livestock Association or the Indian Mound Ranch will not be responsible for loss, damage, theft, injury or death.
